Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicines act to support the various systems of the body such as digestion, circulation and immunity. Remedies are prescribed to restore normal function encouraging the body to heal itself. The aim of herbal treatment is to resolve the problem behind the symptoms, restoring full strength and long term health. Herbal medicine can be used to prevent and treat many health problems – from a general sense of being run down, low in mood or just tired, to complex medical conditions.

A modern western medical herbalist is trained over 3 or 4 years studying:anatomy and physiology, diet and nutrition, pharmacology, pathology and clinical medicine, as well as plant therapeutics, with over 500 hours of supervised clinical training, qualifying with a BSc degree in phytotherapy.
