Sea bands and Nausea

A study conducted looking into the effectiveness of sea bands applied to Pc 6 acupuncture point was conducted healthy pregnant women in their 1 st trimester, who had at least one episode of nausea, vomiting, or both before their prenatal clinic/office visit. The women were split into two groups where one group received a sea band containing a pressure button and the other received a sea band containing a no button.

The bands were placed over Pc6, a well document acupuncture point that has been used for nausea. Both groups experienced significantly less frequency and severity of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy while wearing the Sea-Bands, with the pressure button sea band be significantly more effective than the control.
